The Hurlingham Academy plays a role in BBC's Silent Witness

The Hurlingham Academy school and students were fortunate to play a role in a powerful, two part episode of the BBC thriller Silent Witness, which aired 14th and 15th January 2019.  Filming took place 2018 June half term.  During filming, the cast and crew shared valuable insights about the industry with media and drama students (among others) who were used as extras.  Areas of the school were transformed into fictional Cerrington Academy and students appear in several close ups and background shots.

The episode entitled 'Lift Up Your Hearts' follows a head teacher who confronts drug dealers who are preying on his pupils and community.  Viewers posted positive feedback on social media with many expressing the opinion that it should be shown in schools.

The school is grateful to Timothy Prager, a successful British television and film writer who wrote the episode and has been very supportive of the school.  Mr Prager lives in the area and has been impressed with all the positive changes that have come about under Principal Mr Leon Wilson’s leadership.
