What Parents Say...
'Good day Mr Wilson, both my husband and myself would like to THANK YOU for the awesome three years our girls have had at your school - your guidance and leadership has been superb and this is what makes this school! Under your leadership, the school will only go from strength to strength. Your teaching staff have been excellent and have taught the girls so much - they have pushed them to their fullest potential and for that we are thankful. You can be very proud of all of them! You have been very supportive of the girls and also very kind to them - and for that we cannot thank you enough. We will miss you. Have a great, relaxing summer!'
'I visited your school during an open event along with my twins. On our journey to the school a former student directed us to where the school was as I wasn't familiar with that part of the area. All your students were very helpful. A young man named Timothy was especially helpful. He was very gracious and had the most impeccable manners. He spoke very highly of your school, the pupils, the staff and the entire school community. During your talk you said children are rewarded for their kindness and goodwill. I believe Timothy should be rewarded in some way. Thank you for hosting us.'
'Good day Miss Robinson, I write this email with a sad heart – we are going to miss The Hurlingham academy and its wonderful teachers. As you know The Hurlingham academy was not our choice of school and we were very apprehensive at the beginning BUT we were certainly proved wrong. The girls have both flourished at your school – from the lessons learnt and the excellent teachers the girls have both done exceptionally well. Both John and I would like to THANK YOU for all of your assistance through the years – it is much appreciated and we will miss you. The Hurlingham academy will forever be in our hearts.'
'Dear Mr Wilson, this is just a quick email following myself and Simon’s visit yesterday (22/09) to your school. Even before arriving at The Hurlingham Academy yesterday, I was already amazed with the behaviour I saw from the children on public transport that morning. The children were respectful, polite and a credit to the school. Our visit was such a positive experience and a big thanks to Mr Ives, Ms Venegas and the rest of staff who greeted us and let us sit in on a lesson or two. It was fabulous to see such engaged children eager to learn.'
What does the school do well?
Parent Survey, March 2021
'There is a weekly newsletter that informs me of topics my child will be covering as well as upcoming events and weekly awards for pupils. I am contacted via the MyED app and informed of when clubs/enrichment is and all other information that isn’t in the newsletter. If I have a query relating to my child’s learning or their general well-being I’m able to contact a teacher via email. If I call and want to talk to SLT, a teacher or pastoral care member I’ve also been called back after school hours to discuss my concerns. This obviously makes me feel very positive about the school as I feel that they take my concerns seriously and I feel involved in my child’s education. There’s fantastic communication in all areas of my child’s school life and the staff are approachable.'
'As parents we can see the homework set by the school on the Showmyhomework App. I can email the teachers at any time and have always been responded to promptly. We had a parent teacher meeting on zoom which was great.'
'Weekly newsletters, open door policy to teacher communication, parent-teacher video sessions. Clearly a lot of effort is being made to communicate with parents, and it is much appreciated.'

'You can call whenever you like - they are very good at responding in a caring way. Love the parents' evenings. The show my homework app is amazing too.'
'I am deeply impressed with and grateful for the massive efforts made by the Senior Leadership and all staff in the school to provide reassurance and support to the school community. You have made it look so easy and my son is very comfortable and supremely unbothered about the prospect of falling ill, or of future school closures, since he knows his teachers are looking out for him and will ensure he and his classmates do not fall behind as a result of 2020's disrupted school year.'
'I am incredibly pleased with the Hurlingham Academy and am always praising the school to others about how amazing the school is. I could not fault it at all. Mr Wilson and his staff are amazing.'
'We can see what’s going on through MyED and if there’s any real issues they’ll contact home.'
'They send postcards for excellent work and newsletters about what is happening generally within the school.'
'Regular telephone calls to discuss any problematic issue (or to praise good effort). Fantastic weekly newsletter.'
'So far, the school is very responsive, easy to communicate with and interested in involving parents.'
