Joining Us in Year 7

We are delighted that you have chosen to join The Hurlingham Academy in September 2021.

The Hurlingham Academy has a thorough and comprehensive transition programme for all children moving up from primary school.  Our staff work closely with primary schools to ensure students’ transition into Year 7 is as smooth as possible.

The school web site has a wealth of important information about the academy.  At the top right hand corner of each page you'll find a PARENTS and STUDENTS portal.  For parents we've posted term dates, newsletters, the Parent Handbook and more. For students; Show My Homework, Hegarty Maths, the House System amongst other useful items.  Please familiarise yourself with these areas of the web site along with checking this page for additional updated content.

Welcome from Ms Lamb, Head of Year 7

Welcome to The Hurlingham Academy, my name is Ms Lamb and I am going to be your Head of Year when you come in September.  All the staff and students are very much looking forward to having you join our community, we cannot wait to finally meet you all.  We understand that moving from Primary to Secondary school can be a daunting time for students and their families, but I would like to reassure you that we are working incredibly hard to prepare for your arrival and to ensure that this transition is as easy as possible.  Our current Year 7's have made an excellent video for you to explain how they found the transition and give you an idea of how your first few days will look, please see below.  Come September, we will put in place an extensive transition programme to fully support every student, ensuring that they feel confident in all aspects of their education at our school.  Until then, please read over any communications sent through the post and do not hesitate to contact me, Georgia Lamb should you need any more information.

Please watch our Transition Video below.
