The Hurlingham Academy Celebrates Significant Jump in GCSE Performance To Achieve Its Best Ever Results

Students and staff at The Hurlingham Academy are today celebrating receiving their GCSE results with a 10% point increase in performance.

60% of Year 11 students achieved at least five A*-C grades at GCSE including English and maths – the highest the academy has ever achieved.

Since joining United Learning in January 2015, the Academy has made significant progress across the board and today’s results are the latest evidence of the improvement and success that is quickly becoming established at the school.

Amongst those students celebrating their personal success today were Aubrey Cueto, Diana David and Yanisa Phatarawatt, whose hard work was rewarded by a combined total of 33 A* and A grades between them!

On receiving her results Diana said:

‘I feel so happy and relieved! I am so grateful to the school – it is the most supportive place ever. I don’t want to leave!’

Yanisa was equally overjoyed:

‘I feel ecstatic and on top of the world with my results. Without all the hours of intervention and support from the school, this wouldn’t be such a great day!’

Leon Wilson, Principal of The Hurlingham Academy, congratulated students and staff saying:

“I am incredibly pleased and proud of every single student who is enjoying their results today. Each of them has worked incredibly hard for these results and it is excellent to see them receive external recognition through these grades.

“The Hurlingham Academy is moving forward at pace and these results are just the latest in a series of successes we have been celebrating this year. It is no surprise that local families are increasing choosing us as their first choice secondary school for their children”.
