A Welcome from our Principal

Dear parents and carers,

I am thoroughly delighted that you have chosen to entrust your child’s education to us.

As of 2024, we are officially rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted and oversubscribed in every year group. Every year since 2016, we have delivered outstanding GCSE results for our Year 11 students who leave us and we are currently the highest achieving, non-selective, co-ed school in Hammersmith and Fulham.

I lead a team of dedicated, highly motivated and expert staff who are excited by the vision and mission of this school to empower children as learners and citizens.

Our vision as a staff is to develop happy and healthy learners who achieve the highest possible academic outcomes for success in life; and to nurture responsible young citizens who care for their communities and who are committed to bettering them. This vision is achieved through our passionate dedication to rigour and excellence in teaching and learning for all pupils; and our thorough commitment to the deep pastoral care and personal development of every child.

We have high standards and we expect all students to make progress and achieve their potential. However we recognise that there is more than academic attainment to the development of a healthy and responsible young adult. We care for the nurture and growth of the whole child and believe that every child deserves to be happy, healthy, supported, challenged and engaged. School life at The Hurlingham Academy is structured to facilitate the learning of new skills, the embedding of character qualities and the development of social and relational skills through our PSHCE, enrichment and extra-curricular programmes.

I believe that successful secondary education requires a genuine partnership between the parents/carers at home and the teaching staff at school. Please do read this handbook in its entirety and please do support us as we work to ensure that your child experiences the best education possible and achieves their full potential.

We have an open-door policy and you are welcome to come in and meet with us to discuss any questions or concerns. You are also more than welcome to visit and have a tour of the school. Do take us up on this, we love to show off our community!
